CurrentReport Blog In a recent escalation of tensions, militants from Lebanon launched a series of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) towards northern Israel, resulting in fires and damage. The Israeli military reported that six drones were deployed, with only one intercepted by their Aerial Defense Array.

The incident occurred near the Israel-Lebanon border, particularly affecting the community of Yiftah. While the Israeli military confirmed light damage from several drones, fortunately, no casualties were reported.

Attributing the attack to Hezbollah, a Lebanese armed group, Israeli state-owned Kan TV news highlighted ongoing border conflicts since October 7, 2023. Lebanese military sources noted Israeli F-15 warplanes intercepting drones en route to northern Israel at low altitudes.

Hezbollah’s military wing, the Islamic Resistance, claimed responsibility, targeting Israeli officers and soldiers in the Yiftah barracks with drones. Damage to an Iron Dome platform in the Ramot Naftali Barracks was also reported.

This event follows Israeli airstrikes on Hezbollah structures in southern Lebanon, exacerbating tensions in the region. Lebanese Labor Minister Moustafa Bayram stated that Israeli attacks caused significant damage to around 3,000 business facilities in southern Lebanon, prompting plans to seek aid from Arab nations post-conflict.
