The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared him the winner of the November 11 election. The results, announced by Professor Abayomi Fasina, the Returning Officer for the election, revealed the impressive support garnered by Uzodinma from the people of Imo state.
Election Results Governor Uzodinma, running on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), demonstrated his widespread popularity by amassing a total of 540,308 votes. His closest contender, Emeka Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), secured 71,503 votes, while Athan Achonu of the Labour Party trailed with 64,081 votes.
