CURRENT REPORT BLOGThe House of Representatives has removed the N5 billion budget originally intended for a Presidential yacht acquisition. This decision was made with public interest in mind, and the funds have been reallocated to increase the Student loan initiative budget to N10 billion. Additionally, the Ministry of Defence’s budget was raised from 476 billion to 546 billion due to heightened security concerns, and the minimum wage for workers was approved with a promise of rigorous legislative oversight to ensure full implementation. A total of 100 billion was retained for the Federal Capital Territory, as per the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s request.
