CURRENT REPORT BLOG The Acting Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has issued a directive for medical personnel nationwide to provide treatment to gunshot victims without requiring a police report. This directive is based on the Compulsory Treatment and Care for Victims of Gunshot Act, 2017. In an internal police memo dated October 25, 2023, addressed to various high-ranking police officials, Egbetokun urged widespread dissemination of this directive to ensure public awareness and compliance with the national law.
