Kanayo, has condemned Reno Omokri, former media aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, for his public call urging the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, to cover the medical expenses of ailing actor Mr. Ibu. Mr. Ibu had sought public assistance in a video to fund his medical care, as he faced an undisclosed illness that might jeopardize his leg.
Kanayo expressed his disapproval of Omokri’s actions, describing them as unkind. He stressed that assisting a colleague in need is an individual decision and can also be done privately. Kanayo also criticized Uche Maduagwu for his remarks, asserting that individuals who offer help should be appreciated based on the extent of their contributions to Mr. Ibu’s medical expenses. Kanayo’s comments underlined the importance of supporting fellow actors in times of difficulty.
In this situation, the actor’s perspective was that the public nature of Reno Omokri’s call for help was inappropriate and amounted to criticism rather than genuine concern.
