In a viral video circulating on social media, IVD is seen on one knee, proposing to Blessing CEO. She responded emotionally, saying, “Yes, Yes, Yes, I will marry you Ikechukwu Darry Ogbonna.”
The engagement has sparked fresh outrage and debate online, coming just under three years after the tragic death of IVD’s wife, Bimbo Ogbonna. Bimbo died in October 2022 from injuries sustained in a fire incident at their Lagos home, a tragedy linked to alleged domestic violence.
Following her death, Bimbo’s family publicly accused IVD of long-term abuse. In the months after, Blessing CEO defended IVD, claiming she was his relationship therapist and asserting that Bimbo was a violent person and had suicidal tendencies.
The relationship expert was later remanded by the Lagos State Federal High Court in March 2023 over alleged involvement in the ongoing legal battle concerning Bimbo’s death — further fueling public backlash.
The new development has reignited criticism across social media, with many accusing both IVD and Blessing CEO of insensitivity and moral impropriety.
