Speaking in his new Netflix special, the 56-year-old star shared how the medical emergency left him in a coma for 20 days and struggling to recover afterward.
Foxx recounted the incident that occurred on April 11, 2023, when he experienced a severe headache. He initially asked a friend for aspirin but lost consciousness before receiving help.
“It is a mystery. We still don’t know exactly what happened to me,” Foxx said. “I went out and I do not remember 20 days.”
He was rushed to Piedmont Hospital, where doctors discovered a brain bleed that resulted in a stroke. Upon waking from the coma, Foxx found himself confined to a wheelchair and unable to walk, marking the beginning of a challenging recovery process.
