Jigawa State Government has Approved N10,000 Wage Award for Civil Servants

CURRENT REPORT BLOG The Jigawa State Government has authorised N10,000 in pay awards for civil officials employed by local and state governments.

Following the state executive council meeting on Friday, Hon. Sagir Musa Ahmed, the Commissioner of Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, revealed this to reporters.

According to him, the decision was made following discussions over the Memorandum submitted by the State Head of Civil Service (HOS) regarding the salary awards that Jigawa State Civil Servants would receive.

According to him, “The State Executive Council has, after its deliberations, approved the sum of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000) to each civil servant in the state for three months, effective January 2024, as salary award.

“The award for the Jigawa State Civil Servants (both state and local government workers) pending when a new national minimum wage is expected to have been signed into law and other palliative.”

Earlier than that, the Federal Government and Trade Union Congress (TUC) agreed to a N35,000 wage award to civil servants after the removal of fuel subsidy.
