CurrentReport Blog In a recent social media clip circulating on X (formerly Twitter), Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, has made startling claims about his son’s relationship with his child, Liam. According to Aloba, the late artist denied paternity of Liam before his untimely death.
Speaking in Yoruba, Joseph Aloba revealed that Mohbad confided in him about his doubts regarding Liam’s paternity. Aloba stated, “They shaved my late son’s hair before I got to his house. People saying my son didn’t reject Liam are lying. He said he only slept with Wunmi once and she brought pregnancy after their first sex.”
This revelation comes amidst ongoing controversy and public speculation surrounding the paternity of Liam. Aloba has been vocal about his desire for a DNA test to be conducted to confirm the true paternity of his grandson. This sentiment is driven by his belief that there are inconsistencies in the claims made by Wunmi, Mohbad’s partner and Liam’s mother.
In a report, Wunmi initially expressed her willingness to undergo a DNA test for Liam. However, she has since retracted her consent, stating that only her late husband had the right to request such a test. Wunmi also asserted that Mohbad was the only man she had ever been with, emphasizing that he disvirgined her.
The tragic death of Mohbad has not only left a void in the Nigerian music scene but has also brought about a complex and emotionally charged situation regarding the legacy he left behind. The conflicting narratives from Joseph Aloba and Wunmi continue to fuel public interest and debate over the true paternity of Liam.
