CurrentReport Blog In a recent development surrounding the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, his father, Joseph Aloba, has insisted that a DNA test must be conducted on his grandson before the singer is laid to rest. This decision comes in the wake of the inconclusive results from Mohbad’s autopsy.
Mohbad’s body was exhumed for an autopsy following his burial. This action was prompted by widespread public outcry demanding an investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding the singer’s death. Unfortunately, the autopsy results were unable to determine the exact cause of death, leaving many questions unanswered.
In a recent interview with TVC, Joseph Aloba stated that he would not release Mohbad’s body for burial until a DNA test is conducted on his grandson, Liam, to confirm his paternity. “I have to do the DNA [on Mohbad’s son] before the burial,” Aloba declared.
He expressed doubts about the child’s paternity, citing instances where Mohbad’s wife would leave home for several days without informing her husband.
Addressing allegations that he has been wearing Mohbad’s clothes and attempting to inherit his properties, Aloba clarified that he and his son shared a close relationship. “When Mohbad was alive, we were friends. If he buys clothes for himself, he would also buy for me,” he explained.
He emphasized that he has not visited Mohbad’s house since his death and refuted claims that he is trying to claim his late son’s belongings. “Since his death, I have never gone to his house.
I have never gone there for anything. But some people misinterpreted things so whenever they see me with a shirt, they say it is Mohbad’s. Is it compulsory that it must be from my son? I have my own clothes, too,” Aloba added.
