The governor’s plea comes amidst widespread suffering among Nigerian citizens, exacerbated by soaring prices of essential goods.
Governor Yusuf, speaking through his spokesperson Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, highlighted the dire situation faced by many Nigerians, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan. He stressed the urgency of reopening borders to ensure the availability and affordability of food for the nation’s large population.
Acknowledging the efforts of Customs in distributing food items to Kano residents, Governor Yusuf urged for continued support to reach those most affected by hunger and hardship. He pledged unwavering support to the Nigeria Customs Service, particularly in endeavors that yield positive outcomes for Kano and Nigeria as a whole.
In response, CG Adeniyi underscored the significance of fostering stronger ties between the Nigeria Customs Service and the Kano community. He pledged to enhance operational procedures and engage stakeholders more effectively to address the pressing challenges.
During discussions with stakeholders in Kano, CG Adeniyi reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to mitigating food shortages in the state. Plans are underway to provide essential food supplies to alleviate the suffering of Kano residents.
