CurrentReport Blog In a proactive move to address the persistent fuel scarcity within the Ilorin metropolis, the Kwara State Government’s task force conducted raids on several filling stations. Led by Prince Mahe Abdulkadir, Chief of Staff at the Government House, the team’s primary objective was to combat hoarding practices that exacerbate hardships for the masses.
During the operation, Abdulkadir emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that the majority of the populace benefit from the dividends of democracy. He underscored the importance of proactive measures in alleviating the challenges posed by fuel shortages.
The task force inspected various filling stations, including Total Energies Post Office Area, Rainoil Filling Station Asa Dam, NNPC Gerin Alimi, Total Energies Surulere, NNPC Surulere, and MRS Filling Station Oja-Oba. At some locations, such as Rainoil Filling Station Asa Dam, NNPC Gerin Alimi, and NNPC Surulere, sufficient fuel reserves were confirmed, with encouragement given to maintain orderly sales practices.
Abdulkadir urged fuel station management to ensure customer organization to prevent chaos and promote efficiency in fuel distribution. Additionally, he appealed to the citizens to exercise patience and refrain from panic buying, reassuring them that the government is actively working to prevent price hikes and protect their interests.
Responding to the government’s actions, motorists expressed gratitude and urged continued monitoring of fuel sales to prevent hoarding and mitigate the hardships caused by fuel scarcity.
