Addressing the challenges of leading Nigerians, Buhari acknowledged the complexity of governing a populace that is keenly aware of its rights and often critical of those in authority. He described Nigerians as extremely difficult, noting that they closely monitor every step of their leaders, requiring constant effort to demonstrate competence.

Responding to a question about the possibility of his government being influenced by a cabal, Buhari acknowledged that it might have happened. However, he emphasised that the law should hold anyone accountable for breaking it and that walking away without consequences should not be allowed.
