CurrentReport Blog The Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has assured indigent women that the policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration will soon alleviate the hardship being experienced by Nigerians. She made this statement during an event to distribute food items and essential supplies to underprivileged women in Awka, Anambra State, on Wednesday.
Speaking at the event, the minister highlighted President Tinubu’s awareness of the challenges faced by Nigerians, especially the poor, and emphasized that once the administration’s policies fully manifest, life will become easier for many.
“These items we are sharing today are from President Tinubu, and he has assured that he will do more. The items we have here are only for the poor, and no one who is not in this category will benefit from it,” Kennedy-Ohanenye said.
The minister supervised the distribution of 5,000 bags of rice, 500 bags of fertilizer, 300 cooking gas cylinders, and POS machines, ensuring that they reached those in need. She emphasized the government’s commitment to transparency, ensuring that federal aid reaches its intended beneficiaries.
She further noted the government’s efforts to support the poor through social security programs, encouraging citizens to apply and reassuring them that submitting their BVN information is safe and necessary to prevent multiple claims.
In addition, Kennedy-Ohanenye announced the establishment of a mobile court, set to begin on October 15, to protect the interests of the poor. “Those who do not want the poor to breathe will have to face the law,” she said, underscoring the government’s commitment to justice and fairness.
