The 23-year-old beauty queen, who previously participated in the Miss South Africa pageant, faced backlash after the DHA suggested her mother was involved in fraud and identity theft.
Chidimma, born in Soweto, South Africa, to a Nigerian father and a Mozambican mother, exited the Miss South Africa pageant following the allegations. She later accepted an invitation to compete in Miss Universe Nigeria, where she emerged as the winner.
In a recent interview with Arise News, Chidimma denied any involvement in identity theft, stating, “I did not steal anyone’s identity. I’m waiting for the conclusion of the case to provide more clarity.”
She further explained that she avoided speaking on the matter due to its legal nature and her lack of complete information. Chidimma emphasized that her decision to withdraw from the Miss South Africa competition was motivated by her desire to pursue her dream and not to evade the allegations.
