Why Adetshina Is Leaving Pageantry
Despite her remarkable achievement of finishing as 1st runner-up and being crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, Adetshina revealed that the journey was emotionally taxing.
“Finishing in the top 2 is still a shocker for me… Honestly, I am done. Pageantry was a real traumatic experience for me,” she stated.
Adetshina explained that she faced moments of doubt during the competition and now wants to focus on personal growth and education. “I’m really done with pageantry. I want to focus on myself and establish who I am. And forward my education as well,” she added.
A Controversial Journey to Fame
Adetshina’s pageantry career has been marked by challenges. She initially competed in the Miss South Africa contest but withdrew due to scrutiny surrounding her nationality. She later represented Nigeria and won the Miss Nigeria title, eventually earning global recognition at Miss Universe.
Her decision to relocate from South Africa to Nigeria aligns with her desire for a fresh start.
As she steps away from the spotlight, Adetshina is determined to prioritize her well-being and future.
