This major operation spanned several locations in Abuja, targeting key areas notorious for unauthorized drug sales.

Operation Details

NAFDAC revealed the successful raid on X, formerly known as Twitter. The coordinated operation focused on several hot spots, including:

  • Area 1 Motor Park
  • Dunamis Market Garki
  • Zuba Market
  • Nyanya Motor Park
  • Asokoro

Seizures and Arrests

During the operation, authorities apprehended 22 suspects involved in the distribution of illegal drugs. Over 50 types of illicit pharmaceuticals were seized, encompassing a variety of dangerous substances such as:

  • Tramadol
  • Rohypnol
  • Diazepam
  • Cod Amol
  • Aphrodisiacs
  • Codeine syrups

Collaborative Efforts and Investigations

The successful raid was the result of a tip-off from the Department of State Services (DSS), highlighting the importance of inter-agency cooperation in combating the illegal drug market. NAFDAC confirmed that the arrested individuals are currently under investigation. All seized products are set to be destroyed to prevent any chance of re-entering the market.
