NAPTIP Secures Conviction of 66-Year-Old Man for Human Trafficking in Yobe State

Conviction Details

According to NAPTIP, Ibrahim Musa was found guilty of procuring and exploiting a 14-year-old female victim. The crime violated Sections 13 and 16(1) of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015 (as amended).

The convict was first arraigned before the Yobe State High Court II, Damaturu, presided over by Hon. Justice Lawu Lawan, on January 12, 2023. After a lengthy trial, the court convicted him on January 6, 2025, sentencing him to five years imprisonment.
