Nigerian Army Chief Extends Eid-el-Kabir Felicitations, Commends Troops for Their Sacrifice

Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, relayed the Army Chief’s commendations through an official statement. He praised the troops’ unwavering commitment and gallantry in facing and overcoming security threats across the country.

“Eid-el-Kabir symbolizes the profound role of sacrifice in both human and divine contexts,” said Lieutenant General Lagbaja. He emphasized that the festival serves as a reminder of the sacrifices that Nigerian Army personnel make daily to ensure peace and security.

General Lagbaja expressed gratitude for the relative peace that has been restored in previously troubled regions, acknowledging the significant sacrifices made by the Nigerian Army in terms of both human and logistical resources. The Army continues to combat terrorism, insurgency, banditry, secessionist movements, and other crimes, contributing to the stabilization of the nation.

He lauded the troops for their unyielding loyalty and exceptional bravery, noting that their courage often comes at a great personal cost. “Many carry the scars of battle, while others hold memories of their sacrifices for our beloved country,” he remarked.

The Army Chief also called for collective support and understanding from all Nigerians towards government efforts to implement reforms aimed at economic recovery and prosperity. He urged Army personnel and their families to renew their commitment to selflessness and patriotism, crucial for the nation’s growth and development.
