The operation, involving precise ground and air strikes, targeted a known bandit meeting point near the Bula community within Yadi Forest. This coordinated effort led to the elimination of the bandits, disrupting their plans for further criminal activities in the region.

Samuel Aruwan, the overseeing Commissioner for the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs in Kaduna State, confirmed the successful operation. He highlighted that the strike was meticulously planned and executed based on reliable intelligence. This intelligence was gathered following the recent neutralization of key bandit kingpins along the Kaduna-Katsina border.

Aruwan’s statement detailed the intelligence process: “The report had earlier revealed that bandits were to converge at the area for a meeting on a deadly mission within the Yadi Forest general area. Close monitoring followed and at the agreed time, the bandits were sighted bearing arms and approaching the location on motorcycles.”

Further surveillance confirmed the assembly of the bandits, who were seen moving in groups of seven to ten members. Among those neutralized was Alhaji Kachalla Ragas, a close associate and childhood friend of the previously eliminated Buharin Yadi, signifying a strategic victory for the Nigerian Army.

Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, expressed his gratitude towards the residents who provided essential intelligence that contributed to the operation’s success. He urged the community to continue supporting security forces by volunteering information about bandit activities.
