CURRENT REPORT BLOG A Nigerian woman named Pelumi Nubi has embarked on a solo car trip from London, England, to Lagos, Nigeria.
The Nigerian travel content producer announced on Monday to her followers of over 40,000 that she will leave on a two-month solo vehicle adventure on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
Before embarking on her journey, the blogger from the UK revealed that she had spoken with others who had taken similar adventures and realised that no black woman has made this journey before.
“Hey, everyone! I have got a crazy idea that I’m turning into reality. I am driving solo from London to Lagos Starting 30th January 2024.
“For months, I’ve been chatting with folks who’ve tackled similar adventures. As far as I know, no black woman has made this journey before. But this isn’t about breaking records. It’s about showing the world that “impossible” is just a word, especially when you have got enough grit and determination.”
Pelumi’s Peugeot 107 has been modified with sleeping and dining areas for her journey.
Report says a direct flight from London to Lagos takes roughly six and a half hours.
This is happening almost two years after Kunle Adeyanju, a tourist from Nigeria, cycled from London to Lagos.
