Speaking at an event titled “Honouring the Youth of Our Nation,” with the theme “Becoming: Pathway to Success,” she emphasized that Nigeria is on the cusp of a significant transformation.
The event marked the first anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration and highlighted the government’s commitment to empowering the youth as essential contributors to national development. First Lady Tinubu expressed confidence in Nigeria’s potential to emerge as a leading nation globally.
“The government will continue to do its best to provide an enabling environment to foster and support you as active participants in national development and in re-writing Nigeria’s story for good,” she stated, reinforcing the administration’s dedication to creating opportunities for young Nigerians.
A key part of her message was the critical role of education in achieving success. She urged the youth to prioritize their education, highlighting that it opens up numerous opportunities. “Stay in school, finish school because we are a developing country. When you stay and finish your education, you will have more options,” she advised.
First Lady Tinubu also shed light on her pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), which aims to complement President Tinubu’s efforts in various sectors including education, agriculture, social investment, and economic empowerment. Through RHI, she aims to provide additional support and resources to drive Nigeria’s progress.
Her address concluded with a powerful call to action, urging Nigerians to keep their faith in the nation’s potential. “I urge us to keep believing in Nigeria, by the special grace of God, we will witness the rebirth of a new nation that will take its rightful place among the comity of Nations,” she affirmed.
