Stanley Ajemba, a prominent movie producer also known as Stanley Ontop, confirmed her death on Saturday through an emotional Instagram post. Alongside a heartfelt tribute, he expressed his disbelief, describing the news as “like a dream.”
“Couldn’t post since morning because it was like a dream to me. Ezigbo Nwanyi Onitsha. Rest in peace, ma’am. My best friend, she always called me on the phone, advising me. The last time we spoke was during the Queenth saga. She said, ‘Ontop, stop.’ I’m still speechless,” Ajemba wrote.
Nkechi Nweje’s death has left a huge void in Nollywood, with many remembering her as a vibrant and dedicated actress who contributed significantly to the Nigerian film industry. She is survived by her husband and six children.
