The ruling, delivered by Justice Tajudeen A. Okunsokan in suit no AB/667/2024, limits protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta; Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode; and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota.
The court’s decision came after an application filed by the Attorney-General of Ogun State. The respondents include prominent activists like Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, and Lekan Soneye, as well as representatives of the Progressive Students Movement, the National Association of Nigerian Students, and the National Association of Ogun Students.
Justice Okunsokan’s ruling mandates that protesters refrain from converging in any other part of Ogun State, allowing peaceful protests only within the designated venues. The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, has been directed to enforce this order, which remains in effect for seven days, as stipulated by Order 39 of the High Court of Ogun State (Civil Procedure) Rules 2014.
