CurrentReport Blog In a recent development, the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has come forward to address Governor Seyi Makinde’s criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to remove subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). The party, through its Publicity Secretary, Wasiu Olawale Sadare, declared that Governor Makinde does not have the right to criticize President Tinubu for this move.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Sadare highlighted Governor Makinde’s previous silence on similar decisions made by former President Muhammadu Buhari. According to Sadare, Governor Makinde’s criticism of President Tinubu’s actions while remaining silent during Buhari’s tenure reflects inconsistency and a lack of fairness.

Sadare further criticized Governor Makinde’s attempt to shift blame onto the federal government for the economic challenges faced by the state. He urged the governor to focus on addressing the internal issues within Oyo State instead of laying blame elsewhere.

The statement also pointed out the substantial allocations received by the Oyo State government from the federal government, totaling over N207 billion since May last year. However, Sadare questioned the utilization of these funds, citing concerns over accountability and alleged wasteful spending by the governor.

Furthermore, Sadare accused Governor Makinde of acquiring additional funds through loans, grants, internally generated revenue (IGR), and the unauthorized sale of government assets without sufficient transparency.
