CurrentReport Blog Arsenal legend Paul Merson has expressed surprise that Chelsea did not sign West Ham United striker Niclas Fullkrug during the summer transfer window. Despite being active in the market and securing players like Jadon Sancho, Joao Felix, and Pedro Neto, the Blues failed to land a center forward, even after attempts to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Merson highlighted Fullkrug’s potential to make an impact, particularly in West Ham’s recent clash with Fulham. “I feel Niclas Fullkrug can make an impact in this game. I’m a big fan of his, and he scored for Germany during the international break,” Merson stated.

Merson believes Fullkrug would have been a solid option for Chelsea, especially considering their need for a reliable striker. “It was a bit of a surprise to me when they did not make a move. The Blues don’t have a proper striker at the moment,” he added.
