Penthouse Collapse at Samsung Building Construction Site in Abuja: Four Injured

The Acting Director-General of the Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Department (FEMD), Abdulrahman Mohammed, confirmed the incident in a statement.

Details of the Incident

According to Mohammed, the collapse occurred during the casting of the penthouse segment of the three-story building. While no lives were lost, four of the 10 workers on-site sustained minor injuries and were immediately taken to Wuse General Hospital for treatment.

Adherence to Building Codes

Mohammed called on developers to strictly adhere to building codes and prioritize safety measures on construction sites to prevent such incidents.

“This incident highlights the importance of complying with safety regulations to ensure the integrity of structures and the well-being of workers,” he said.

Emergency Response Appeal

The FEMD acting chief also urged Abuja residents to use the 112 emergency toll-free number to report any disasters promptly for quick response.
