Governor Caleb Mutfwang, mourning the unprovoked attacks on Plateau, the death toll has climbed to over 115. He urged security agents to uncover the sponsors and foot-soldiers behind this “carnage.” The simultaneous attacks on 15 communities in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas on Christmas eve left houses ablaze, farm produce looted, and residents brutally attacked.
Governor Mutfwang, acknowledging the unprecedented nature of the attacks, expressed concerns about the response time of security agents, linking the violence to land disputes. He cautioned that if not addressed, the affected people might resort to defending themselves against assailants.
