Police Service Commission Dismisses 18 Senior Officers, Demotes 19 for Misconduct

Details of the Disciplinary Actions

The sanctions were approved during a plenary meeting held in Abuja, where the Commission addressed 109 pending disciplinary cases, 23 appeals and petitions, and 13 court rulings requiring compliance.

The PSC approved the following:

  • Dismissal of 18 senior officers:
    • 10 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs)
    • 6 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs)
    • 2 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs)
    • 1 Superintendent of Police (SP)
  • Demotion of 19 officers:
    • 1 Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP)
    • 1 Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP)
    • 2 Superintendents of Police (SPs)
    • 2 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs)
    • 13 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs)

The PSC emphasized its commitment to maintaining discipline and professionalism within the Nigeria Police Force. These actions aim to uphold accountability and ensure that officers adhere to the highest standards of conduct.
