CURRENT REPORTS BLOG: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu revealed an important development in Nigeria’s social safety net program. He stated that approximately 12 million households will receive N8,000 over a span of six months. The aim of this initiative is to alleviate the hardships faced by Nigerians due to the removal of subsidies. This announcement was made through a letter read by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas during the House of Representatives’ plenary session. In the letter, President Tinubu emphasized the significance of assisting indigent and vulnerable citizens in meeting their basic needs. The letter is currently awaiting approval of additional financing from the National Assembly to scale up the national social safety net program.
