The President made this declaration in Edo State on Tuesday during the swearing-in of Monday Okpebholo and Dennis Idahosa as Edo State Governor and Deputy Governor, respectively. Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Tinubu’s address underscored his confidence in Nigeria’s economic future.

Celebrating what he described as “democracy in its truest form,” Tinubu highlighted the power of the people’s voice in shaping the nation’s political landscape. “This atmosphere of joy and hope resonates with the voice of the people,” he said, describing the occasion as a symbol of Nigeria’s democratic progress.

Speaking on the economic outlook, Tinubu reassured Nigerians that the country has “pulled back from the brink of economic collapse” and is now positioned for growth and stability. His message of economic optimism came with a call for unity and reconciliation in Edo State, encouraging all elected leaders to serve inclusively, regardless of partisan differences.

Reflecting on Nigeria’s democratic journey, Tinubu emphasized that the strength of the nation’s democracy lies in the equality of each vote. “Today’s inauguration is yet another testament that no individual vote holds more worth than another,” he remarked.

Addressing the newly elected Edo Governor, Tinubu urged him to focus on creating jobs, improving education, modernizing infrastructure, and expanding healthcare access for all citizens. He commended Senator Okpebholo’s commitment to building an Edo State defined by prosperity and opportunity for every resident.
