President Tinubu Inaugurates Agricultural Project and Renamed Airport in Niger State

CurrentReport Blog President Tinubu recently arrived in Niger State to inaugurate a significant mechanized agricultural project alongside the renaming of the Minna International Airport. The project marks a pivotal moment in the state’s agricultural sector, promising advancements in both production and processing capabilities.

Under the leadership of Governor Umar Bago, the Minna International Airport underwent a transformative renovation, now proudly bearing the name Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna. This renaming ceremony, held on Friday, symbolizes the recognition of Tinubu’s contributions and underscores the collaborative efforts between the state government and national leaders to propel development initiatives forward.

Originally inaugurated by former military Head of State Ibrahim Babangida in 1990, the airport has been revitalized to meet contemporary standards, boasting a fully furnished Domestic Terminal. This modernization not only enhances transportation infrastructure but also signifies the state’s commitment to progress and innovation.

In conjunction with the airport’s renaming, President Tinubu is set to inaugurate the agro-processing zone, a testament to Niger State’s dedication to agricultural advancement. Spanning approximately 2,000 hectares, the project encompasses both irrigation and processing facilities. With 1,000 hectares allocated for drip irrigation and greenhouses, and an additional 1,000 hectares designated for the processing of dairy products, the agro-processing zone promises to revolutionise the region’s agricultural landscape.
