CURRENTREPORTBLOG: President Bola Tinubu has given his assent to the N28.7 trillion 2024 Budget, signing the Appropriation Bill at a brief ceremony held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday. Present during the signing were key figures such as the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Tajudeen Abbas, and other top officials including the Minister of Finance, Coordinating Minister of the Economy, and the National Security Adviser.
Tinubu’s signature follows the Senate’s increase of the budget by N1.2 trillion, bringing it to N28.7 trillion, higher than the initial proposal presented to the National Assembly on November 29, 2023. The budget breakdown includes aggregate expenditure, statutory transfers, recurrent expenditure, capital expenditure, and a GDP projection of 3.88%.
