CurrentReport Blog The General Overseer of Wisdom Church of Christ International, Lagos, Prophet Bisi Olujobi, has called on President Bola Tinubu to tackle the core issues driving the ongoing nationwide protests.
Since August 1, thousands of Nigerians have taken to the streets to voice their frustration over the severe poverty and worsening economic conditions plaguing the nation. In a statement released over the weekend, Prophet Olujobi urged Tinubu to “genuinely address the lingering crisis of hardship and hunger bedevilling the country before it’s too late.”
Olujobi, who led a protest in March 2024 under the Federation of League of Concerned Prophets, believes Tinubu is capable of more effective governance. “Nigerians are not asking for too much,” he stated.
“Our recommendations to the Presidency, received on behalf of the Speaker and members of the Lagos House of Assembly, are yet to be fulfilled as simple as they are,” Olujobi lamented. “That is to tell you this government only understands the language of protest and force, which is shameful. If he (Tinubu) can’t perform, let him relinquish power to a more competent person.”
Highlighting the plight of the Nigerian populace, the cleric emphasized, “Nigerians are suffering, yet they keep struggling. Let the youth continue demanding for a better Nigeria, and it will pay off one day.”
In addition to his comments on domestic issues, Olujobi reiterated his prophecy concerning the upcoming United States presidential election, predicting that Donald Trump will emerge victorious. However, he warned that Trump’s administration would implement “draconian policies” that could negatively impact Africa.
