CurrentReport Blog Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his support for U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming November presidential election. The declaration came just a day after the U.S. Justice Department charged two Russian media executives with an alleged illegal scheme aimed at influencing the election through pro-Russian propaganda.
Earlier this year, before President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the race, Putin had voiced his preference for Biden, citing him as a more predictable, “old school” politician compared to former President Donald Trump. Now, Putin has shifted his support to Harris, acknowledging that Biden had urged his followers to back her.
“We will do the same, and we will support her,” Putin remarked, aligning the Kremlin’s stance with Biden’s endorsement of Harris.
However, Putin also commented on Trump’s previous presidency, noting that Trump had imposed more sanctions on Russia than any other U.S. president.
