Omokri explained that Peter Obi was originally his political project, as he had suggested Obi’s name as a running mate for Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 presidential election. However, things took a dramatic turn after members of the Obidient Movement began to attack him and his family.

According to Omokri, the attacks escalated from verbal insults and threats directed at him to life-threatening actions aimed at his family. He revealed that he received multiple death threats, including incidents where his family was pursued by individuals connected to the Obidient Movement. In one chilling instance, Omokri and his wife were trailed while jogging in the United Kingdom, and their jogging route was discovered.

Omokri recounted that, despite his complaints, Obi did not take any action to address the situation. This lack of response, combined with the growing hostility towards him and his family, led Omokri to use his political influence and resources to vow destruction on the movement. He emphasized that he is meticulous about record-keeping, and he holds documents supporting his claims.

Omokri’s outburst highlights the intense political rivalry in Nigeria, showcasing the extreme measures some individuals are willing to take when personal boundaries and family safety are threatened. His comments serve as a reminder of the volatile nature of Nigerian politics and the complexities of personal allegiances within political movements.
