CurrentReport Blog Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has suggested that Alejandro Garnacho should consider leaving Old Trafford if it facilitates the arrival of Victor Osimhen from Napoli. With Manchester United keen on securing a top-class striker this summer, Osimhen has emerged as one of the leading targets, despite the striker currently being on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli.

The Red Devils are reportedly looking to strengthen their attacking options, and Osimhen’s name has been heavily linked to the club. As part of potential transfer dealings, Napoli had shown interest in Garnacho during the January window but saw their approach rejected by Manchester United.

Ferdinand, speaking on his podcast, expressed his view that this could be a pivotal moment for both Garnacho and the club. “I would want him to play on the left wing at Napoli, with Osimhen coming the other way,” he stated. While Ferdinand admitted he has a lot of admiration for Garnacho, he emphasized that the arrival of Osimhen should be a priority for United next season.

“If I were advising Garnacho, I’d tell him to go to Napoli,” Ferdinand said, acknowledging the need for a traditional winger and Manchester United’s ongoing pursuit of a striker. The potential swap deal could allow Osimhen to strengthen United’s attack while offering Garnacho a fresh opportunity at Napoli.

As the summer transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether this deal will materialize, but Ferdinand’s comments indicate that Manchester United may be willing to make tough decisions to bring in top talent.
