CURRENT REPORT BLOG The Rivers state government has refuted claims of dismissing the state’s Chief Judge, Chief of Staff Government House, and 23 local government Chairmen. These reports emerged in the wake of a crisis in the state House of Assembly, where a faction of the Assembly signed a notice of impeachment against Governor Siminalaye Fubara.
In response to the confusion, the state government, on October 31, through the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joe Johnson, clarified that such a directive had not been issued by the governor, emphasizing his adherence to established rules and a commitment to transparency. The statement assures the public that any official changes in leadership will be communicated at the appropriate time.
The government urged the public to disregard unverified reports and promised to keep them informed of any developments in the future.
