This comes after the initial rejection of five out of six former commissioners. The governor’s move signals his commitment to forming a capable and effective executive council to drive the state’s development agenda.
The clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Olalekan Onafeko, announced the receipt of the new list during a plenary session on Monday. The list, signed by Governor Sanwo-Olu, has been presented to the lawmakers for assessment and clearance.
In his letter to the House, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of forming the state executive council, stating that it is a crucial step toward achieving a just, equitable, and prosperous Lagos State. This reiteration of commitment to the state’s progress highlights the significance of the commissioner-nominee selection process.

The new list comprises 18 names, which include several individuals who were part of the initial nominations that faced rejection by the lawmakers.
