CurrentReport Blog American pop star Selena Gomez has officially become a billionaire, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index. The actress, singer, and entrepreneur has amassed an estimated $1.3 billion fortune, largely thanks to the success of her Rare Beauty brand, along with music, TV roles, and other business ventures.

Over 80% of Gomez’s net worth comes from her stake in Rare Beauty Brand Inc., a makeup line known for promoting inclusivity and mental health awareness. The rest of her wealth is attributed to brand partnerships, acting deals, and investments in mental health startups.

Gomez, who first gained fame as a child star on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place, reportedly earned around $3 million for her role as Alex Russo from 2007 to 2012. She then launched a successful music career, first with her band Selena Gomez & the Scene, and later as a solo artist.

With 424 million Instagram followers, Gomez is the third most popular person on the platform, behind soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Despite her massive following, music tours and album sales contribute only a small portion to her wealth, accounting for less than 5% and 2%, respectively. She last toured in 2016.

Rare Beauty remains the cornerstone of Gomez’s fortune, contributing roughly $1.1 billion to her net worth. The brand’s rapid success has propelled Gomez into the exclusive billionaire club, solidifying her status as a powerhouse in both entertainment and business.
