CURRENT REPORT BLOG The Senate is scheduled to conduct interviews for the nominees for the positions of Governor and Deputy Governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Tuesday. President Tinubu recently approved the nomination of Olayemi Cardoso, the former Chairman of the Board of Citi Bank Nigeria, as the new CBN Governor. Additionally, the Senate will evaluate four other nominees for the role of CBN Deputy Governors, who will work alongside Cardoso in overseeing the operations of the central bank for the next five years. Following the Senate’s return from its annual recess, all the nominees will undergo screening, as stated by Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, the Senate Leader’s Media Office.
