In a statement released in Abuja on Wednesday by his Media Adviser, Dr. Ezrel Tabiowo, to commemorate International Workers’ Day, Lawan emphasized the paramount importance of honoring workers’ rights and dignity.
Lawan, representing Yobe North Senatorial District, stressed the imperative for the Federal Government to stand in solidarity with workers and prioritize their demands for equitable treatment and opportunities. He underscored, “In the face of prevalent economic challenges, it is more crucial than ever to support our workers and champion their quest for fair treatment and equal chances.”
Highlighting the essence of International Workers’ Day, Lawan affirmed the need to uphold workers’ dignity and rights while striving for a future where they can flourish. He took the opportunity to commend President Tinubu for endorsing the salary increase, stating, “President Tinubu’s approval reflects his commitment to enhancing the well-being and livelihoods of our workers.”
Lawan further applauded Tinubu’s recognition of the significance of equitable compensation for civil servants and his proactive approach in addressing the matter.
