Akpoti-Uduaghan Warns Akpabio’s Wife to Stay Away from Controversy
In a legal letter dated March 1, 2025, and addressed to Unoma Akpabio through her lawyer, Victor Giwa, Akpoti-Uduaghan urged the Senate President’s wife to stay away from the allegations.
The letter, titled “Stay Away from Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Sexual Harassment and Intimidation Allegation Against Sen. President Godswill Akpabio; To Safeguard Your Sanity and That of Your Family,” made it clear that the claims were directed solely at Senator Akpabio, and he should be the one to defend himself.
“Our client has concrete evidence to substantiate her allegations. We suggest that you leave the defense of these allegations to the Senate President to maintain your sanity and that of your family.”
Allegations Against Akpabio: Victimization and Intimidation
The crisis between Akpoti-Uduaghan and Akpabio began when she refused a reassigned seating position in the Senate. The matter escalated further on Friday, February 29, 2025, when she accused Senator Akpabio of victimizing and intimidating her after she rejected his alleged sexual advances.
She claimed that Akpabio:
- Refused to take her motions in the Senate
- Maligned her reputation
- Intimidated her for rejecting his alleged sexual overtures
Unoma Akpabio Sues Natasha for N350 Billion Over Defamation
In response, Unoma Akpabio dismissed the allegations, accusing Natasha of creating false content for personal gain. She subsequently filed a lawsuit at the Federal Capital Territory High Court, demanding N350 billion in damages for defamation and fundamental rights infringement.
