South Korean Actor Song Jae-Rim Found Dead in Seoul Apartment at Age 39

CurrentReport Blog Seoul, South Korea – Renowned South Korean actor Song Jae-Rim, widely celebrated for his role in the popular K-drama The Moon Embracing the Sun, was discovered dead in his Seoul apartment on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Song, aged 39, was a familiar face to K-drama fans and was well-regarded for his versatility and impactful performances across various roles in television and film.

Seoul’s Seongdong Police Station confirmed the tragic discovery, stating that, as of now, there is no indication of foul play. “Currently, there is no evidence of foul play,” an official from the police station revealed, adding that an investigation is ongoing to determine further details. Reports indicate a two-page letter was found at the scene, according to Soompi, a prominent Korean media outlet.

Song Jae-Rim debuted in 2009 with the film Actresses but rose to fame with his role as Kim Jae-woon’s loyal bodyguard in The Moon Embracing the Sun, starring alongside Kim Soo-Hyun. Over the years, Song built an impressive portfolio with appearances in K-dramas and films, most recently featuring in Queen Woo. He was also working on two anticipated projects, I’ll Become Rich and Death Business.
