CURRENT REPORT BLOG The Lagos State government is committed to addressing the backlog of pensions by the close of 2023, a promise made by Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo, the Commissioner for Establishments and Training. In a recent discussion with journalists, he emphasized the government’s dedication to modernizing the civil service in line with 21st-century public service standards, which is part of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ agenda. The Commissioner highlighted the governor’s strong commitment to clearing the pension backlog, with the goal of resolving it by the end of 2023. This means that retirees from 2024 onwards should receive their pension entitlements without undue delay.
Additionally, the government is focused on investing in the professional development and training of the state’s workforce.
