The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, have requested a live broadcast of the proceedings of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT). The PEPT is set to hear the case filed by Atiku and the PDP challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 25th poll.
In their request, the PDP and Atiku argued that live transmission of the proceedings would ensure transparency and accountability in the tribunal’s decision-making process. They further stated that such coverage would also serve as a means of educating the public on the technicalities of legal proceedings.
