CURRENT REPORT BLOG On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu issued instructions to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Director General of the Department of State Service, Yusuf Bichi. They were directed to collaborate with governors and take action against individuals stockpiling food items. This decision follows the President’s meeting with state governors in Abuja to address the ongoing food crisis in the country.

Last week, protests erupted in Niger State due to the escalating cost of food items, which many attribute to hoarding by certain intermediaries. Additionally, in Kano State, the government had to seize 10 warehouses suspected of hoarding food items.
