With tensions escalating, Filashkin took to Telegram to urge the remaining residents to evacuate the area for their safety.
Before the outbreak of war, Siversk boasted a population of over 10,000, but the recent violence has undoubtedly disrupted the lives of its inhabitants.
The situation in the Donetsk region remains tense, with Russia laying claim to the territory despite only maintaining partial control.
