Tragic Clash in Anambra Leaves Five Dead: Security Forces Raid Gunmen Camps

CurrentReport Blog In a harrowing confrontation on Tuesday, tragedy struck in Anambra as five individuals lost their lives and several others sustained injuries during a fierce gun duel between security operatives and gunmen.

The clash erupted when the Anambra Joint Security Force (JSF) launched a raid on two camps of the gunmen situated in Aguluezechukwu, Aguata council area, and Ogboji, Orumba South council area.

Reports indicate that the security forces, in their operation, successfully seized various items from the camps, including locally crafted rocket launchers, charms, and even police uniforms.

While Anambra police spokesman Ikenga Tochukwu refrained from divulging specific casualty figures, it’s been disclosed that the skirmish resulted in the deaths of four gunmen and one police operative.

The Anambra Police Command, in a statement released on Wednesday, announced that the pursuit of the gunmen has extended to the Obofia Forest, Aguluezechukwu, and Ogboji areas.
This expanded effort underscores the resolve of the authorities to apprehend those responsible for the violence and to restore peace and security to the region.
