Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal clarified that none of the vehicles acquired by former Governor Matawalle for N2.79 billion are currently present at the government house.

According to a statement by Sulaiman Bala Idris, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Zamfara’s new Governor Dauda Lawal, none of the vehicles purchased by former Governor Bello Matawalle for N2,794,337,500 were left behind after his tenure ended. The former governor had awarded a contract to Hafkhad Properties and Facilities Management Nig. LTD for the purchase of vehicles, which were intended for distribution to dignitaries and various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). 

Zamfara alleged looting

 

 The vehicles included three bulletproof Jeeps, seven sets of bulletproof Prado Jeeps and Land Cruisers, seven Toyota Hilux, 30 sets of Peugeot 406, one bulletproof Land Cruiser, two Land Cruiser Jeeps, and three vehicles for the Deputy Governor’s office. The new administration has requested the return of all missing vehicles within five working days from Bello Matawalle and his deputy.
